On the Dynamics of the Human Spine: Towards Mechanical Characterizations of Back Pain and its Treatments

چکیده
In this paper, recent research efforts by the authors and their research groups to develop and analyze a range of models for the human spine are discussed. These models range from rod-based models, to multibody and OpenSim-based models, and are motivated by a desire to improve our understanding of lower back pain and its treatments. These models are complimented by a new spine testing facility which enables validation of several aspects of the models.
